Be funny. Just don't make someone else the punching bag.

Some language exists mainly to attack, degrade or intimidate other people. We don't want that here.

Our moderation may block

Blocked: Profanity used abusively

Blocked: Hate speech
Blocked: Sexually explicit language
Blocked: Threatening language
Blocked: Targeted abusive language
Blocked: Other seriously offensive content

These rules apply whether you write in English, Arabic, عربي, Saudi/Gulf dialect, Arabizi, Arabic + English - or whatever linguistic situation your group chat has created.

NICE TRY.

Changing how something is written doesn't necessarily change what it means. Our moderation can account for things like:

Spaces between letters
Symbols
Numbers instead of letters
Repeated letters
Deliberate misspellings
Character swaps
Arabic transliteration
Arabizi
Mixed Arabic + English
Whatever you were about to invent

If everyone knows what you meant, the filter probably does too. Nice try though.

CONTEXT EXISTS.

We're not trying to build a ridiculous system where harmless sentences disappear because three letters happened to appear next to each other.

Talking about something isn't automatically the same as attacking someone with it. Educational, historical, news and genuine conversation may be treated differently depending on context. But context is not a loophole for harassment, hate or prohibited sexual content.

The goal isn't: “Nobody can say anything.”

The goal is: people can say interesting things without making the place awful.

We intentionally don't tell you exactly which word set it off. That would basically be a tutorial for getting around it.

WHAT IF I KEEP DOING IT?

Then things become considerably less fun.

1Content blocked.“Try again.”
2Repeated violations.“Seriously?”
3Posting restrictions or account review.“Okay. That's enough.”

Serious violations can skip every one of those steps and get handled immediately.

WE MISSED SOMETHING?

Moderation isn't perfect. If something clearly doesn't belong here, tell the person who started the room - they can end it and remove what was written. If your completely normal story got blocked by mistake, say that too. We keep tuning this.
